my dog had chewed my thumbstick on my dualshock 3 PS3 controller, and I looked all over the internet for replacement parts and I felt kinda wierd buying them on Ebay since you know they are third party made, so I came onto Amazon hoping I can find them from a trusted seller, and this is what i found, took me 5 minutes to replace them with the new ones, I recommend this to everyone who needs to replace the thumbstick, it's very simple to switch the old for the new. you get 2 in a pack I got mine all the way from florida in a couple days, I recommend this to everyone looking to save some money, WAY better then buying a whole new controller.

You get two in a pack, I needed one to replace an analog stick in a DS3 that had the rubber pealing away. It's nice to have a spare now.It only took a few minutes to install, having done no research or taken a DS3 apart before. But over an hour putting the darn thing back together. The problem I was having was as I'd put the case back together, one of the rear pair of buttons would spring up and out. After a lot of huffing and puffing, and almost throwing the controller out, I finally got it to clip nicely together.Had the rear buttons been in a less excitable mood, this would have been a 6 or 7 minute job, and with a little experience, 2 or 3.There appears to be various versions of the DS3 internals, particularly how the battery sits inside the unit. Mine is pretty old, it has the small black battery, rather than the bigger grey one. If you have one like mine and didn't pay attention to how it sits inside, you fit the white/cream plastic cage to the white plastic strips on the board, and the battery sits snuggly on top of both, i.e. no battery sandwich. If the battery is moving around, don't try to put the controller back together, something is wrong. Good luck! If you get stuck, youtube has several assembly vids.Although purchased from Amazon, it was fulfilled by Brambhai Mods, who managed to get it to me the follow day, which was a pleasant surprise. I'm sure there were reviews for this product when I ordered, but as of today, there are none.UPDATE: After using this for around 3 months I'm dropping the 5 stars down to 2. The problem is the replacements tend to stick, which as you can imagine makes for frustrating game play.The dome part of the thumbstick that acts as a cover for the controller is far too close to the controller casing, especially when compared to the original thumbsticks. In the end I got so fed up, I butchered an old six-axis to pinch a thumbstick for the DS3. It was either that or try to shave off some of the edge of the controller itself. The problem appears to be the depth of the mounting hole not being as deep as the originals, an extra 1mm would make all the difference. I thought they'd soon bed in and this wouldn't be an issue, but 3 months of regular play suggests otherwise.

These joysticks came in today, and i wondered why shipping took so long (about a week and a half) but it seems it was being shipped from Hong Kong or something so its completely understandable. I purchased these to replace my old PS3 controller joysticks and let me just say these are a great fit but as people will notice these seem a little bigger than the actual PS3 joysticks but don't in any feel that way...so the verdict : Good choice for a replacement.
