By Sinbad
If you are looking for a TE fightstick, you can't go wrong with this one. First of all, it is incredibly sturdy and well constructed. Not overly heavy but solid enough to not move during gameplay. The buttons and joystick are extremely responsive, as one would expect from Sanwa parts. They are made to withstand the pounding of everyday arcade machines. The Chun Li artwork on the flat surface is very cool. It has a holographic plating that gives the design a 3D look. The blue tones and other colors are also beautiful and vivid. The only downside is that it looks like the surface can scratch easily, so handle the stick with care. Also, this is a rare limited edition stick. Only 4000 were made, so if you are a collector or a fighting game enthusiast, get this stick while it is still reasonably priced and available from a seller like Amazon.

By Armando N. Roman
Face it- the Dual Shock controller is pretty bad for fighting games, and it's almost entirely because of the d-pad, broken up into separate buttons for the directions. I never understood why they stuck with the design all these years, and as a result, I can't stand playing fighting games on Sony systems unless there's an arcade stick available. But in the last year or two, Madcatz saved us all with their brilliant Tournament Edition Fight Sticks, for anyone fed up with that damn d-pad, or just for those who really love fighting games. I owned the first TE stick when it was on clearance last year, and that thing was great. But as the year went on, I didn't have much time for online play in SSF4, so I got rid of it. But when I saw that there was a Chun-Li fight stick, seeing the image of her on one of these suckers was all I needed to get back into the genre.Simply put, this is probably Madcatz's best stick so far, and that's not just Chun-Li lust bias talking either. Most of this stick is the same as the previous models, and most people looking at this page will be familiar with the build. But for those who don't know, you get the real deal here- Sanwa parts. No cheap buttons or joystick, just the closest thing you'll get to having part of an arcade cabinet in your own home. Buttons are tight and responsive, the joystick clicks to confirm when it moves in any direction, and the overall construction is perfect. Many people still whine about these having a square gate instead of an octagon one, but I don't think these people realize that you don't need to slam the joystick all the way to the edge of the gate in order to confirm a movement. You can quickly tap it a few centimeters, and it'll count. As someone who lives in an area with only 2 arcades within a reasonable distance, and only one has [very old] fighting game cabinets, I easily got the hang of this controller in less than an hour. Doing 360 degree notions is so simple, it made me start to use grappler characters more. The Chun-Li art on the front is gorgeous, though I do have to nitpick that we don't see any of her lovely legs on it. But I'll let it slide this time. The graphic has a lenticular design, giving it a semi-holographic look, and it works beautifully. Trust me when I say that the Fight Stick looks much better in-person than it does in stock pictures. Heck, I actually was a tiny bit reluctant about getting it because of how blue everything is, but having it in my hands, I'm very happy with how things look. Something else that sets this apart from a few other TE Fight Sticks is that it's more of a regular rectangle shape instead of having the sides go out, like the first Fight Stick did. Not that I had any problems with that, but it makes it look less bulky. Don't worry though- this thing still weighs a good couple of pounds and won't be sliding off your table or lap during gameplay. Finally, it connects to your ps3 with a 13 foot long USB cable, and is stored in a compartment on the back, just like previous Fight Sticks. It has the PS Home, Turbo and Lock buttons above the joystick in their own area, and you can set the joystick to be the right or left analog stick, or d-pad. The button layout here, and for the main buttons on the right, are easily accessible and I'm glad they didn't change a thing here. And for those who don't like the colors of the buttons, ball on the joystick, or anything else, these Fight Sticks are -very- easy to customize, and you can swap out parts to your own preferences if you'd like. What more is there to say? This is a work of art, and it's limited to just 2000 units for the ps3 (and 2000 for the 360 as well). Get one now while it's still available before it reaches Femme Fatale prices.
